AMS Counselors' Mission

Awtrey Middle School's counseling program promotes a program that is safe and accessible to all students through planned classroom lessons based on the counselors' core curriculum, small groups, individual needs, and collaboration.  As student advocates, counselors assist students in overcoming obstacles to their learning and growth.  Students are leaders and we will assist them in nurturing that potential.  Students will be challenged to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will benefit them in becoming productive members of their community through academic, social/emotional development.  They will become creative thinkers, problem-solvers, and responsible citizens that will benefit all career areas.
